Course Description

This 1 credit hour home study course is for mental health and health care professionals who want to lean more about the challenges and complexities of working with the aging population. The home study course will discuss the a variety of issues facing the aging population including complex chronic health conditions, drug use and abuse, health disparities, safety concerns, and behavioral health and physical health. This course will also cover topics such as the signs of elder abuse, caregiver concerns often associated with adults age 65 and older, and discuss ways of ensuring integrative care for an aging population.

Discuss signs and symptoms of elder abuse.
Explain the relationship between behavioral health and physical health.
